in lurker love

eco-terrorism & guerrilla experimental filmmaking are a match made in heaven. this friday [23.10.2009] this collusionary force can be witnessed at the red rattler when punk monk propaganda put our hat into the ring to support activist art for the album launch [shoot to the moon] & copenhagen climate change send-off for lovely local band, the lurkers.

the subversive folk trio recently provided some award nominating banjo sounds for our 48 hour film project film "hybristo honeymooners", on friday we'll all win as they come together with vox, guitar, double bass & banjo in a fine bluegrass fusion of pure uplifting satire.

in support of their cause we've curated a collection of sustainable sumptuous cinema where beauty meets dream state meets reality. our handmade punk monk and kino friends cine zine [glue still drying] outlines the thirteen films which will play tonight [starting 19:00 sharp].

urban epiphany

sometimes one just needs a different view of the city for once hidden avenues to be revealed. a change of perspective can have a magnimonious impact on the entire macroverse.

for more street philosophy, astra taylor's documentary examined life which follows a series of contemporary philosphers wandering modern metropolises & providing their own bent on modern culture is playing at this year's possible world's canadian film festival, one night only, this saturday.

there's a Q & A + screening of canadian short film frog [dir. austin andrews] with guest appearance by sydney screenwriter, matthew clayfield. i will be there, amongst others to soak up the gutter spawned wisdom.

later at the red rattler, our punk monk propaganda tribe in conjunction with the canadian film festival in honour of counter culture doco, know your mushrooms are also creating an installation & overall ambience for the event.

come dance in the fly agaric mushroom circle with us crazy conciousness traversing faeries & soak up the magical projections... cult director rod mann is also flying out from canada for the screening.

about last night

we shot a little film. it will play in a couple of days time for KINO KABARET which is an extreme filmmaking showcase.

all films featured are made in 48 hours. ours will technically be a bit over. due to crew/cast obligations we just couldn't shoot in the timeframe for my hyperreal staged concept which is a derivative nod to lynch in conjunction with the themed KINO screening this coming thursday night: a homage to "the man".

another punk monk, dermot [our lovely DOP] has a haiku screening tonight amongst loads of other intensive short films to see. to make up for blurred lines, i might just make another couple of films. that is, if anyone still wants to work with me...

only one death, five litres of blood-letting & a face-full of blown capillaries. insurance anyone? welcome to guerrilla filmmaking.

if you're in sydney please come to the red rattler theatre to see "the retweeted tale of annabel lee" & enjoy the punk monk propaganda lynch installation. the film screening commences 19:00.
