rare delicate bloom
to be cherished, nurtured
struck from the wilderness
errant grown tumultuous
in unsuspecting soil
wavered in the idolizing wind
could not withstand
the incessant stomping
of your oversized boots
and fell
- crushed.
i awoke in the morning
uncharacteristically clear
cured of my obsession,
the love well
miraculously emptied
overnight
- tortured petals
vanished into the ether.
